ENVIRONMENT 1
 This background is made from three star quilts. Note the crosses in the center quilt.
 This background consistes of four pendleton blankets surrounding a cross on which is depicted the Sacred Heart. Local baskets are on either side of the altar, a buffalo robe in in front of the altar and the altar cloth is decorated with ribbons and feathers.
 The banners in the back depict four whales in the Northwest Coast style of iconogrpahy. There are two lecterns, one depicting an eagle. An eagle feather staff stands to the right of the lecterns.

This canopy depicts the four colors representing the four directions. The altar beneath is covered with tanned skins and stands on a Native design blanket. A Native basket is on the altar and there are other baskets and pottery to the left of the altar.
 This close-up shows the construction of the canopy and the four colors: red, yellow, black and white.
